Welcome to La Taverna Restaurant & Bar We are proud to reside in a building that has been part of the historic Dayton community since the 1730’s. La Taverna, originally built by James Whitlock, was an inn for weary travelers seeking rest and refreshment. Since that time, La Taverna has been transformed into everything from a general store to a private home and most recently it was the Whitlock Tavern. Building on this history, La Taverna continues the tradition of a place for rest and refreshment with great food in a comfortable atmosphere. During the time of the Whitlock Tavern, the building was restored to resemble what it would have looked like when it was first built. This restoration enhances the warm comfortable atmosphere of La Taverna. We have five separate dining areas for the enjoyment of our customers. Additionally, Lydia’s Room holds 20 people and may be reserved for small parties. Emily’s Room, our upstairs dining room, holds a maximum of 40 people and is also used for private parties as well as business meetings. La Taverna also welcomes bridal and baby showers, rehearsal dinners, business dinners, birthday and graduation parties and small wedding receptions. Our outdoor gazebo provides a perfect backdrop for photographs of special events. Our exceptional food includes a variety of dishes freshly prepared for our lunch and supper guests seven days a week. In addition to our regular menu items, we also feature daily lunch and dinner specials. La Taverna has become an ever-growing community gathering place and features live entertainment on Friday evenings. The owners on premises look forward to meeting all your dining and entertainment needs. To all our patrons longstanding and new, Buon Appetito and Mille Grazie for dining with us. We hope you enjoy your visit…
